I will dominate 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Ex two time unified boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice is still one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
