Cars in German City Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Police State

Officers mentioned they were notified by a individual who found a vehicle in Hanau marked with reddish liquid

Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they reported in a statement.

Law enforcement say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.

The fluid had been drawn in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.

Officers then located many other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police state early analysis indicate the liquid was most likely human blood.

"There is still no lead as to its origin; authorities are not yet aware of any physical harm in connection with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the public for tips.

An important representative said the attack left him stunned and had to be addressed quickly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a gunman targeting residents of migrant background in 2020.
